Mission Statement

The Superior Chamber of Commerce Board is an organization of people in business whose mission will be to create and promote a favorable climate for balanced economic development, represent the interests of the business community, and be the focal point for communication and advocacy on issues affecting the business community.

Objectives

  • To help businesses prosper and grow
  • To encourage an orderly expansion and development of all segments of the community
  • To contribute to overall economic stability of the community
  • To sponsor events that contribute to each sector of the community and the business therein, that are both fun and encourage community involvement
The Carnegie Building - home of the Chamber of Commerce
As a Board, directors perform essentially a legislative function; that make all policy decisions of the Chamber. However, from time to time, the Board may direct a poll of the membership when considered desirable as a guiding influence.

WHAT DOES THE CHAMBER DO FOR YOU?

Advertising

  • Update: Monthly publication (newsletter format) mailed to Chamber members.
  • Director/Profile: Annual Report with a list of all the Chamber Members. Chamber listing, updated monthly, goes out to organizations, business and individuals through the years.
  • Internet: The chamber maintains a web site at http://www.ci.superior.ne.us/
  • Visitors Center: Brochures are available at the Chamber Office.

Other Benefits

  • Tax Deduction: Chamber membership is a deductible business expense.
  • Community Bulletin Board: Display of events and local activities in the Chamber Office.

Referrals

  • Relocation Packet: Sent to persons or businesses interested in relocating to the area.
  • Vacation Packet: Sent in response to inquiries.

Networking Opportunities

  • Annual Chamber Banquet: Community awards and installation dinner in January.
  • Mixers: Bi-annual Business-after-hours networking in a social setting.
  • Fund Raisers: Several highly visible events with large attendance.

Tourism

     Tourism is an important part of the Superior Chamber's activities. In addition to the Lady Vestey Victorian Festival, the Harvest Festival, the July 4th Celebration and other regularly scheduled activities, these services are available through the Chamber:

  • Special group tours of Superior's Historic Homes
  • Assistance with convention or trade show events
  • Vacation packets which include information about local events, scenic areas and places to stay

The Superior Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors

The Ambassadors are a group of men and women who have been designated by the Chamber of Commerce as the official representatives of Superior
Their purpose:
1. Promote, welcome and recognize growth and improvements in businesses, industries and homes.
2. Extend hospitality and welcomes to groups, business leaders and industrial representatives interested in Superior.
3. Help build a stronger Chamber of Commerce by soliciting new members.
4. Be motivators and promoters with a positive attitude about Superior.
